AAPK Issue (06/19/2025)
I am mentioning this issue, because it is important to me that my good reputation as a seller remains intact. I do not want it tarnished, due to any incorrect assumptions or the spreading of rumors (since my AAPK profile is currently missing). We are all painfully aware that rumors can spread like wildfire on the internet and across same-subject forums. And, since we actually need to sell these blades, I want to reduce any potential problems ahead of time.
I'm just waiting on a response from the AAPK forum as to what might have happened. So, this info will have to suffice until I know more.
In May 2025, I contacted AAPK by email, to see if they would be open to mom and I posting all of the knives we have, in their For Sale forum.
The email covered:
1) The amount of blades "260+"; website link to all blades, interest in their Gold Membership, questions and a few mentions.
Q1) Would they be comfortable with our selling all items (folding, fixed, tactical, khukuris, swords)?
Q2) Would it be ok to add the website link (noting I had read they didn't like selling from a website)?
I also mentioned that if that was a problem, I would be willing to rewrite the 9 pages, removing all of info in regard to purchasing, and just have that link for the members of the AAPK forums to see everything easier, if needed.
Q3) Would we be allowed to make additional individual posts in the For Sale section, for the consigned items at both Maida's and Arizona Custom Knives (so that if there was something someone saw, they could reach out to those companies and make a direct purchase)?
Mention 1) We were recommended to AAPK and were looking for a straight-forward place to start selling with a membership.
Mention 2) We were aware of another forum (not AAPK) which we didn't want to list on yet, because their requirements were to list the 'total selling price' for each item.
Due to the sheer amount of items, and the possibility of people wanting more than one item in a box, we thought it would be easier on us to just take the requested items to the post office (once getting a zip code) and let the potential buyer know what the postage would be (instead of creating a total sale price which included shipping, for each individual item).
Since AAPK offered this as an option, we wanted to start with them.
The owner, wrote back stating:
1) "We're very accommodating. Feel free to post pictures, links to items for sale, info... anything within the limits of the law and not deceptive that you think will help you sell your knives :) "
NOTE) After a brief glitch where my intro was not toggled and the private message function wasn't working, it was quickly handled and the owner stated: "... you should feel free to post anywhere / everywhere including pm without issue."
In June 2025, I had the opportunity to put in about 30 hours of work (listing all of the items and adding in the photos) within the forum on the "Knives For Sale/Trade" and "Off Topic Trading Post" sections.
1) After doing so, I had one forum member question why I was posting so much within the For Sale section.
In the coming few days, an administrator wrote an in-forum note on my introduction post, stating he commended me on taking the opportunity to use their forum for listing our items; I was also welcomed to the forum at that time. So, while I was concerned that there may be some additional negative feedback, the admin response made me feel comfortable.
2) But, within 5 hours of completing my final item-for-sale post, my profile and all of my posts were missing.
I assumed there was a glitch, due to the mass of items I had posted. But, my personal profile appeared to be gone as well.
3) A few days later, my mom and I, received a refund of the AAPK membership fee.
4) I am really hoping all of my work didn't get lost. Or, that someone who didn't know what was allowed, just accidentally booted me. But, if my work was lost, I may have to put a lot of effort back in, to get everything relisted on AAPK. In that case, it will probably take me about three weeks to complete that task. So, please be patient. Granted, if you have found this note, then you also have access to this website and are welcome to call me as a work around, in order to get the items you want.
5) I've sent a note to the owner via email (on 6/19) and also through the website contact page (on 6/20). Currently, I'm just waiting for any information in regard to what might of happened. Let's keep our fingers crossed that it's a simple fix. And, I'll update this when I find something out.
IMPORTANT
Due to the above situation, please know, if you have tried to contact me through the PM option within AAPK, I have not been able to get into the forum to receive your note.
Please be sure to contact me via phone (my business line: 713-974-2800) or though another forum we have our items listed on. I will get back to you as quickly as possible to get your shipment process started.
Thanks for your interest in our items.
